> What is SPX Solo and who is it for?
SPX Solo is the open-source edition of [[Documentation/Graphics Controller/Overview|SPX Graphics Controller]]— a starting point for anyone who wants to add live HTML graphics to their streams and personal productions. Built on [[Documentation/Graphic Templates/Overview|HTML templates]], it gives you the same core engine used by professional broadcasters, packaged for hobbyists, content creators, and anyone exploring live graphics for the first time.
Available for **Windows**, **Mac**, and **Linux**, SPX Solo runs locally on your machine and is controlled entirely through a browser-based interface— no extra software needed.

## Key Features
SPX Solo ships with all the essential tools you need to manage and play out live graphics:
- **HTML Template Support** — Use any HTML/CSS/JavaScript template for your graphics. SPX Solo includes a production-ready starter pack (`smartpx/Template_Pack_1`) to get you going right away.
- **[[Documentation/Graphics Controller/Rundown Settings|Rundown]] Management** — Organize your graphics into [[Documentation/Graphics Controller/Project Settings|projects]] and rundowns, then control them during your show.
- **Live Playout** — Play, stop, and update graphics in real time with keyboard shortcuts or the on-screen controls. A built-in [[Documentation/Renderer/Preview & Program|preview window]] lets you verify everything before it hits your stream.
- **Web-Based UI** — Access the full [[Documentation/Graphics Controller/Overview|Graphics Controller]] from any device on your network using a browser.
- **[[Documentation/Graphics Controller/Plugins & Extensions|Plugin System]]** — Extend SPX with custom controls, panels, and JavaScript functions.
- **Multiple [[Documentation/Renderer/Overview|Renderers]]** — Output to web, [[Documentation/Renderer/Workflows/CasparCG - AMCP|CasparCG]], or any combination— with up to 5 simultaneous [[Documentation/Renderer/Layers|layers]] and HD, 4K, or AUTO [[Documentation/Renderer/Resolutions|resolution]].
- **[[Documentation/Graphic Templates/Formats/OGraf|OGraf]] Support** — Compatible with the EBU Open Graphics standard for interoperability between different graphics systems and tools.
- **On-Premise Deployment** — Run SPX on your own hardware with full control over your setup.
## Streaming Software Integration
SPX Solo works with virtually any video or streaming application that supports browser sources. Point your software to the SPX [[Documentation/Renderer/Web Render|renderer URL]] and your graphics appear as an overlay:
- **[[Guides/Tutorials/How to use SPX with OBS Studio|OBS Studio]]** — Add as a Browser Source
- **vMix** — Add as a Web Browser Input
- **Wirecast / XSplit** — Add as a Webpage Source
- And many more including MimoLive, LiveU Studio, ToolsOnAir, StreamLabs, and [[Documentation/Renderer/Workflows/Live Streaming Software|others]]
![[Pasted image 20260304122328.png]]
> [!TIP] If SPX and your streaming software are on the same machine, the default renderer URL is `http://localhost:5656/renderer`. If they're on different machines, replace `localhost` with the SPX server's IP address.
